My Experience of Studying in YUFE

My name is Valeriia Vedeniapina, 24 years old, from Russia. I'm an International Student in Yunnan University of Finance and Economics, International Business School, PR-China. After graduating from Moscow State University of Mechanical Engineering (MAMI) with specialization in Economics, I've decided to continue my studies in China.
Why did I choose this university and not any other university in China? First and foremost, the lovely, awesome, and conducive weather in addition to the low level of pollution in Yunnan Province did influence my choice greatly.
Additionally, Yunnan University of Finance and Economics is one of the key and essential provincial institutions of higher education in Yunnan Province-Kunming.
It is also worth noting that the institute has a large territory with a number of sports facilities such as tennis courts, basketball courts, football fields, a swimming pool and a gym. It also has a giant and magnificent library, cafes, restaurants and grocery stores, as well as canteen, two of which are Muslim friendly since they are pork free. The university also has an International Student Club, which helps new students get acquainted easily upon arrival, participate in school activities and also help to develop students’ leadership qualities which are paramount to helping students realize their future career goals and objectives.
I've been living in China for approximately two years. During my first year of study in this esteemed and august university, I learned the Chinese language in the school of International Languages and Cultures. In our class, we had students from different parts of the world including but not limited to the USA, Russia, Yemen, Indonesia, Cambodia, and Thailand. The class was divided into grammar, reading and writing, listening, and speaking. Our program also had additional classes such as calligraphy, Chinese knot weaving, and Chinese paper cutting and so on so forth. The University has conducted lots of activities both within and outside school geared towards providing students with much exposure necessary for the attainment of their future career goals.
During the period of learning the Chinese Language, I found out about MOFCOM Scholarships and its enticing and students’ friendly package. So I decided to apply for this scholarship here without any hesitation. I was helped adequately by teachers and students from International Student Club during my application process. I am very grateful to them for giving me this unconditional support because it gave me the opportunity to continue my studies with Yunnan University of Finance and Economics (IBS) with specialty in Mac Project Management. This program is designed for two years and the medium of instruction is English. My class is a multinational, multicultural and diverse class comprising of students from 16 different countries (Mali, Tanzania, South Sudan, Jamaica, Ethiopia, Cape Verde, Algeria, Sierra Leone, Russia, Tonga, Mauritius, Czech Republic, Indonesia, Laos, Ghana, and Antigua and Barbuda). The diverse nature of my class had helped me to understand different cultures and how these diverse cultures could mar of spur socio-economic development in any institution. Importantly, Yunnan University of Finance and Economics has a huge pool of teaching staff that are highly qualified and have a lot of experience. Our teachers respond to our questions and concerns respectfully and objectively without any biases. They always help us as and when the need arises — difficult situation. I think that this experience I have gained with YUFE-IBS will help my self-improvement greatly.
Last but not the least, per my personal experiences gathered thus far and, that of my pals here, if you want to study in our university, then you will find a program and classes that will suit your taste, preference and admiration, and you will also find a big and friendly family that will support you throughout your studies and personal life. By this, I recommend that, YUFE-IBS should be your last stop when looking for a university that combines teaching with leisure in China and around the world. Do not be the last to be here.
